Bite studio was established in 2005 as an affordable studio & gallery space for local printmakers. Our members currently practice intaglio, relief, and seriagraphy (screenprinting) using etching, drypoint, collograph, monotype, monoprint, woodcut, linocut, collage, and mix medium techniques.

We have 4 etching presses that range from 18” x 36” to 30” x 48” as well as a 36" plate shear.  We have a dedicated etching room with a vertical ferric tank, a hotplate, and a mineral spirit washout bath. We also have an exposure unit, washout booth and a pressure washer for screenprinting.

Artist members are encouraged to show their works during our First Friday openings, with most of our shows spotlighting 2-3 of our members at a time.

Membership is $100 a month for 24/7 access to the studio, and also includes storage, rags, cleaning supplies, newsprint, and various printmaking tools and supplies.

Bite studio is located in SE Portland, at 2000 SE 7th Ave. (corner of SE 7th and Harrison).
